A rising figure in Haitian gastronomy, she elegantly embodies the preservation and promotion of the nation's culinary heritage. A key member of the *Haitians Daily Life* culinary competition jury since its inaugural edition, she stands out for her rigor, discerning eye, and infectious passion for authentic local flavors.
Hailing from Camp-Perrin—specifically the Haut-Camp neighborhood—she grew up in a region renowned for its agricultural abundance and culinary traditions. Her journey is a perfect example of the Haitian culinary legacy passed down from mother to daughter. It was alongside her mother, Josette Perrin, that she learned the secrets of traditional cooking. Her mother founded the famous restaurant KMC (Ka Madan Claude), a name she proudly bore in honor of her husband. By watching her mother handle local spices, master cooking techniques, and honor ancestral recipes, Laeticia developed a deep respect for the art of Haitian cuisine. Following her mother's passing, Laeticia demonstrated great determination by taking the helm of KMC in 2024, thereby perpetuating the family legacy and ensuring the continued success of this iconic establishment. Alongside her culinary pursuits, she is studying administrative sciences at the American University of the Caribbean. This education allows her to combine her mastery of traditional cuisine with strong management and organizational skills.
Passionate about both the culinary arts and communication, Laeticia Joazard has distinguished herself since the very first edition of the *Haitians Daily Life* culinary competition. Her poise, inherited expertise, and enlightened vision make her an exceptional judge, capable of guiding contestants while celebrating the authenticity and richness of Haitian culture.
